DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Work with application and business teams to implement the data landscape requirements per the Firmwide Data Management for our entire portfolio. Help lay the foundation for the data landscape effort by implementing data models, defining controlled vocabulary, implementing governance process, etc. and gradually coach and transition the same to the application team for them to be maintained as part of their SDLC process. Work with key stakeholders, both on business and architecture side, to implement the business needs using the CT strategic data platforms. Work with application teams to understand their requirements, help define solution architecture, and be part of design reviews for solutions being defined by application teams. Work with Business, Architects and System Analysts to fully understand the business requirements and translate them into Conceptual, Logical and Physical models. Promote data modeling standardization, defines and drives adoption of the standards. Maintain, publish and promote usage of data dictionary and metadata about data models. Work with application teams and CDO (Chief Data Officer) to define the data domains and coarse grain data facts for our application portfolio per the FDM guidelines. Work with architecture group to understand the new processes, policies and standards being introduced and implement the same for our application portfolio as well. Transform logical data models into physical database designs while optimizing the performance and maintainability of the physical database. Perform data analysis, discovery, and profiling to help with data modelling effort. Partner with development teams to communicate the business rules, and how they ought to be implemented per the data models. Design reviews of data deliverables such as models, data flows, and data quality assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum experience required: 7 years of experience in applying data management principles and industry standards to design, build and maintain complex data model in Transactional, ODS, Data Warehouse and Data Mart applications, or related experience.

Skills required: Must have data/Information architecture experience in applying data management principles and industry standards to design, build and maintain complex data model in Transactional, ODS, Data Warehouse and Data Mart applications. Must have experience with ER design, dimensional design, etc. Must have experience designing an end to end data warehouse solution. Must have experience with data profiling, analysis, mapping, creation and usage of metadata. Must have business Intelligence and report development experience on platforms such as IBM Cognos, Tableau and Qlikview. Must have ETL development experience with tools, such Informatica and Abinitio. Must have experience with SQL query and stored procedure development. Must have experience with a data modeling tool (ERwin, ER/Studio). Must have experience with Hadoop Bigdata Technologies.
