We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Ad Discovery team!

Our mission on Ad Discovery is to help local businesses discover Yelp products, understand their value (with a focus on Yelp Ads), and effortlessly become Yelp customers.

As manager of the Ad Discovery team, you will lead, grow, and inspire a team of skilled engineers to meet the challenges of Yelp’s ever-changing ads landscape by improving the ads purchase experience. You’ll collaborate closely with a cross-functional group of product managers, designers, user researchers, and members of our executive team to balance shorter-term features and longer-term investments.
We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting.

At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.
Please note that this role will operate remotely and is open to all candidates in the UK.

  • Participating in the hiring process and helping us find five-star talent.
  • Fostering and building a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp’s values.

What it Takes to Succeed:

  • You have to be based or willing to relocate within United Kingdom
  • A background in full stack web development.
  • You consider yourself a thoughtful, deliberative, and emotionally grounded leader.
  • Previous experience as a manager of an engineering team.
  • You are an excellent communicator, both in person and in technical writing.
  • Taking a “people first” approach and caring deeply about nurturing a healthy team culture.

What You’ll Get:

  • Full responsibility for projects from day one, an awesome team, and a dynamic work environment
  • Competitive salary with equity in the company, a pension scheme, and an optional employee stock purchase program
  • 25 days paid holiday initially, rising to 29 with service
  • Private health insurance, including dental and vision

  • Regular 3-day Hackathons and weekly learning groups, always with interesting topics
  • Opportunities to participate in events and conferences throughout Europe and the US
  • Public transportation season ticket loan and £58 per month toward any exercise of your choice
  • Central location, a fully stocked kitchen, adjustable sitting/standing desks, quarterly offsites, locally roasted coffee, happy hours, and more!
