The Corporate Technology Data Architecture group is looking for enthusiastic and passionate software engineers to join our big data engineering team. Our team manages a data lake platform that processes large volumes and different types of data from across all the lines of businesses within JP Morgan Chase. This includes financial transactions such as credit cards, loans, securities as well as data from corporate functions such as compliance and legal. Our data lake platform is currently on-prem and as part of the global firmwide modernization initiative, there are efforts underway to move to the public cloud.
As a platform developer, you will work on implementing innovative solutions that have broader impact to the firm. You will work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment – one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally. As an experienced member of our Software Engineering group, you will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle
* You will be responsible for implementating high quality API-driven microservices that adhere to our Global Technology strategic vision, integrating with other solutions, working with Cloud and Hadoop technologies.
* You will be part of an agile team, delivering innovative software solutions in collaboration with other high performing teams globally.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent with 3+ years of experience.
* Strong in core Java & experience with Springboot framework.
* Experience in creating and/or consuming RESTful services.
* Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable: Kafka, Cloud Foundry, AWS services, Kubernetes, Docker, Hadoop/HDFS, Spark, Scala.
* Experience in modern software development processes including:
+ An understanding of good coding practices, proper code structure, configuration management and code refactoring.
+ Agile Delivery
+ Continuous Integration / Continuous Development Practices
+ Test Driven Development knowledge with practical experience in utilizing unit and automated functional / non-functional testing
+ Good communication skills with the ability to engage and converse with other technologists and product leads using a variety of communication strategies.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in teams to achieve common goals.
