This role is for an experienced full stack software engineer working on our new, cutting edge portfolio exposure engine – ES2. Leveraging a fully cloud native stack incorporating AWS, Apache Ignite and Kafka you will be using the latest software engineering techniques including CI/CD and infrastructure as code to deliver value to the business in fast paced and modern environment. ES2 is the heart of the new portfolio management ecosystem being developed within Asset Management and when complete will support 1000+ users and the management of over $2.2 trillion of client money. This is a highly technical but also business based role that offers the right candidate the opportunity to grow and develop their skills whilst working on an exciting, innovative and business critical product.
As an outstanding senior software engineer you will:
Demonstrate experience guiding and mentoring junior developers
Possess excellent technical and design skills, with a strong focus on a functional design patterns
Be quality focused with an understanding and appreciation of code review and automated testing
Demonstrate an ability for self-directed learning
Be self-starting with the ability and confidence to drive and deliver solutions into production
Essential qualifications and experience
Excellent knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin
Extensive knowledge of core computer science (data structures/algorithms/networks)
Strong understanding of software performance and trade-offs
Experience of developing for private and public cloud
Experience of continuous integration and deployment tools and approaches
Experience with a functional language a strong plus (F#, Scala, OCaml, Haskell, etc)
Desirable qualifications and experience
Financial risk and valuations (CFA a strong plus)
